Bronzeback Titan

Bronzeback Titan furiously chargeing towards the enemies of its masters

Bronzeback Titans are a rare type of Titans used the by the Skorne Empire as warbeasts. A bronzeback is the largest, strongest bull of a herd and they only appear in the wild. Unlike its less feral kin the bronzeback is possessed of a cunning and strength singular amongst it’s kind. Only a few of the skorne houses, Balaash included, have managed to successfully bring a bronzeback into their war stables Paingiver beast handlers regularly face danger when breaking deadly creatures, yet even scarred veterans speak of the bronzeback titan with respect. Subjugation of bronzebacks requires prodigious skill, and at least ten handlers die for every beast captured. In battles between skorne houses, however, a single bronzeback can turn the tide as it goads allied titans to renewed ferocity, awakening their ancient instincts. [1][2]

Herds of wild titans still dominate the eastern savannas and are mostly passive unless threatened. Only the strongest males of a herd may undergo the transformation to bronzeback. The Titan's muscles bulge under thickening hide, its forearms lengthen and an extra pair of tusks sprouts below the sweep of its original ones. The skin on its back thickens to form a pale bronze strip, and a crest of fur grows along the spine to crown a king among titans. Bronzebacks establish dominance through brutal displays and drives away all other mature males. Each of these great beasts seeks to gather a herd of females to follow him and bear his offspring. Captured bronzebacks are never fully tamed and must be watched closely at all times, both in and out of battle.[2]
